Thank you for staying in touch. The State of Idaho recently published guidelines to businesses on how to stage our re-opening. We will adhere to the guidelines while adopting further measures to safely resume normal operations amid the pandemic. At Shiok, giving our guests a greater sense of confidence and assurance that your health and safety is just as important as coming out for a great tasting meal at Shiok.
Our staff will be wearing protective face masks and gloves during service.
They will be providing clear communication on safe distancing measures with our guests. Please cooperate with them.
There are touchless hand sanitizer dispensers located near the entrance and outside the restrooms in close proximity to high touch surfaces like door handles. Restrooms have anti-bacterial soap for guests use.
Our staff will be frequently disinfecting common spaces, and increase frequency of cleaning for high touch surfaces and interactive components within the establishment.
Our staff will clean tables thoroughly with disinfecting agents after each diner vacates the table.
Shiok will put up simple signage at the entrance to clearly communicate these practices with our guests.
Our boxes of children’s toys and books will not be available in the interest of the health and safety of the young ones.
MAY 1 TO MAY 15: CARRY-OUT ORDERS
We encourage all our patrons to call in first so we can schedule a time for you to pick up your order.
For walk-in carry-out orders, we recommend that the patron wait outside in your car while we prepare your order.
Payment over the phone is highly encouraged.
AFTER MAY 16: DINING ROOM OPEN WITH RESTRICTIONS
Please call ahead so we can reserve an appropriate size table for your party.
Because we can only accept 50% capacity, please call ahead to reserve your table.
We urge you to be punctual as we will only keep your table for 10 minutes of your reservation time, after that we will give it to the next guests in waiting.
If you walk in without a reservation and we are at capacity, we appreciate your patience to wait for a earlier group to vacate.
We will be marking out seats to guide diners where to sit to maintain a safe distance from others.
For our diners who live in the same household, you are most welcome to sit together without staggered seating.
For other diners who are just friends, colleagues or business associates, we encourage safe distancing. As such, we request that diners take alternate seats, living an empty seat between them.
When the restaurant gets to one- half of our full capacity, our service staff will not admit any more dine-in guests, so you are encouraged to call ahead and make a reservation to avoid disappointment.
Please do not dine-in if you have a fever, cough or cold. You will be turned away by our staff if you have any of these symptoms. Get your party to order a take-out for you instead. Please understand that this is done in the interest and well-being of our other diners.
Groups of diners is limited to 10 persons or fewer. Our staff will split groups of more than 10 persons into separate tables to ensure safe distancing.
TIPPING AND GRATUITY
I am sure you all agree that Shiok has a team of wonderful staff that most of diners know by heart. They will appreciate and welcome tips and gratuity even when the orders are only take-outs, especially during the period of May 1 to 15.
We will continually review these measures as the situation remains very fluid. Thank you for your support and understanding. We welcome all of you back!
